Corner of the Month: Tennis

With the US Open starting at the end of the month and a great wealth of tennis history, we thought it would be great to get to know more about a sport we haven't played much of.

For this month - we're focusing our attention on cool books and finding ways to play.

Helpful terms to learn:
ACE – A ball that is served so well the opponent cannot touch it with their racquet.
DEUCE – A score of 40-all, or 40-40.
SERVICE BREAK – A game won by the player/team receiving serve.
LET – A point played over because of interference. Also, a serve that hits the top of the net but is otherwise good, in which case the serve is taken again.

"Tennis is the sport in which you talk to yourself. No athletes talk to themselves like tennis players. Pitchers, golfers, goalkeepers, they mutter to themselves, of course, but tennis players talk to themselves—and answer."

-Andre Agassi, Open
