Know your way on the pitch with this soccer slang

In Many Corners Issue 1 we took a stab at some of the best soccer slang if you want to fit in next time you're part of a Fortress. Here's just a sampling:

Clean Sheet: The best feeling for a keeper, a shutout.

Set Piece: Any time the ball starts from a dead stop, such as a corner or free kick. The only time the game actually has a set play, like in football.

A Dummy: Letting the ball roll past you because you know your teammate is behind you. You’re essentially faking out the entire defense by doing nothing.

Park the Bus: When a team stops trying to score and just puts everyone in front of the goal to protect a lead. It’s boring to watch, but effective.

The 12th Man: The fans. When the crowd is loud enough, it actually helps.
