A Tree, A Reader on Arboreal Kinship

This book is edited by Marjolein van der Loo and showcases research and works exploring the relationship between people and trees. The volume is the third in a five-volume series from publisher Onomatopee, focusing on arboreal kinship and ways to relate more closely to tree time spans that can extend up to 5,000 years in species such as pines and Japanese cypress.

The contributions address vegetal agency, plant knowledge, and the interaction between plants and people. The aim is to nurture dialogues and share inspiration on exercising arboreal kinship by taking time to think about trees differently, moving beyond anthropomorphism to acquire deeper understanding.
