ANIMALS: Photographs That Make You Think

The second volume in Henry Carroll's photography series, following HUMANS, published by Abrams. Carroll examines a curated ecosystem of contemporary images to consider how humans relate to animals in the Anthropocene, arguing that appreciation or repulsion toward different species is shaped as much by our own physicality as by theirs.

The book challenges the conventions of natural history photography as a politicized framework, and positions animals as spiritual, cultural, and personal symbols with their own valid means of classification.
