Girls Will Shoot Hoops is a zine documenting the Philadelphia Fox, a women's basketball team that played in the American Basketball League from 1997 to late 1998. Author Lydia Victor interviewed players and coaches, gathering archival details about a team that existed briefly but left a mark on the history of professional women's basketball in the US.
The zine traces the Fox's short run and the broader context of the ABL, a league that folded just as the WNBA was gaining traction. With a Philadelphia WNBA franchise arriving in 2030, it's a timely look back at what came before.
