Tools #06 - To Blow

Tools began as Clémentine Berry's attempt to give craft and manufacturing technique the same cultural attention usually reserved for finished objects. Each annual issue picks a single process, folding, weaving, cutting, spinning, and uses it as a lens to look sideways across art, design, industry, and trade.

This sixth issue turns to the act of blowing, following the technique from glassblowing studios to industrial applications and back through history to the makers who first developed it, keeping the magazine closer to a genuine inventory of human ingenuity than a straightforward trade history.
