Whereabouts

Whereabouts is a project by illustrator Suejee Lee that centers around an animated short film of the same name, documented and extended through this companion book. The work explores concepts of movement, mapping, and the complexity of finding a sense of place through hand-drawn frames and a minimal color palette, relying on sequential images to build its narrative.

The project engages with themes of dislocation, memory, and the physical space occupied by the body. Characterized by simple line work and focus on sequence, it uses sequential art and animation to examine the complexity of feeling at home or lost in a modern setting.
