Learn and improve your knowledge of typography and type families around a game of cards. In addition to these families discover the featured typefaces in the form of specimens that contain and reveal a number of episodes from the history of typography.

Based on the “official” Vox-AtypI classification developed by Maximilien Vox (here reworked and enhanced), this deck of cards presents — quite seriously and in detail — each type family: their origins, their characteristics, their historical context, etc.

It also paints a portrait of type design down through the centuries and provides a glimpse of contemporary type design by presenting a number of recent designs from internationally recognized foundries including: 256tm, BP Foundry, Commercial type, Elsner & Flake, Emigre, FontBureau, FontFont, Hœfler & Frere-Jones, Lineto, Linotype, Optimo, Ourtype, PhilsFont, Typofonderie, Underware, etc.
